Joseph Tannous Invited to Moderate Leadership forum: Co-operatives and Mutual's

Earlier in November Joseph Tannous, 1st States Executive Director, was invited to moderate a Leaders Forum for the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) in Melbourne.

Earlier in November Joseph Tannous, 1st States Executive Director, was invited to moderate a Leaders Forum for the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) in Melbourne.

The session was focused on how to 'speak politico on the Hill', with Joseph explaining how to effect change and harness the right support from the body politic and the public service in Canberra, engaging with policy makers and enhancing policy positions through effective advocacy.

Amongst the special guests for this session were Su McCluskey from the Competition Policy Review, Patrick McClure of the Reference Group on Welfare Reform and Angela Perry, the Chair of Employee Ownership Australia and New Zealand.

Other notable participants of the Leaders Forum included BCCM Chair Andrew Crane, Professor Ian Harper of Deloitte Access Economics, Damien Walsh, Managing Director of Bank Australia, NRMA CEO Tony Stuart, CBH Group CEO Andrew Crane, Terry Agnew, Group CEO of RAC and Alex Malley, Chief Executive, CPA Australia.

The Victorian and Federal governments were represented by the Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio, Minister for Industry, Energy and Resources and Dan Tehan MP respectively.

The event was an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the upcoming challenges and opportunities faced by the growing Co-op industry in Australia, especially in respects to regulation and growth.
